No. Dance Bars Cannot Be Banned
by Surekha tenneti Venugopal on Apr 15, 2006 06:46 AM

No. Dance Bars cannot be banned.
It is a human being's option whether he/she wants to go to a dance bar or not.
If open soliciting for prostitution is seen in any of such bars, the police can strike down on that particular place, as soliciting for prostitution is illegal.
But mere dancing in an eating place, no matter how sexy it may be, cannot really be banned.
Much, much more harmful than a dance bar is TV serials showing the ugliest sides of human nature- influencing millions of people in their homes on the worst kinds of human behaviour. Then why is TV not banned ?
Liquor, gambling, betting are far worse crimes than getting a bit turned on by a dance-bar performer.
So, what all are going to be banned ?
An affectionate, balanced home, education and optimum physical and mental health are the answers to the so-called evils of dance bars, not banning.
