Dance bars
by keshav on Apr 13, 2006 08:13 PM

Moral policing of any kind is repulsive. It smacks of the Spanish Inquisition and the Islamic dress-code for women.
Each one of us is very well equipped to handle our own moral turpitude. We don't need the Government to impose it's diktat on us.
The choice is simple. If you don't like these places, don't go there. Obviously there are people who do like it. Or else they wouldn't flourish.
Even places like Paris have the "Folies Bergere". Bombay (not Mumbai) has always been known to be at the forefront, in terms of a snazzy lifestyle.
Why kill it?
BTW, I haven't been to a dance bar in the last 15 years. How many of those who favour the ban have ever been inside one? I really didn't find anything immoral there. Repulsive, loud and tacky maybe, but not immoral. There's more flesh seen on TV and the movies than in there!

Should dance bars be allowed?
