It was sad to read the article and the experiences the writer had to undergo. The real issue is that barriers exist not just between communities but within communities too. Hindu non vegetarians cannot get housing in many parts of Malabar Hill/Prabhadevi etc. I would ask my friend not to be disillusioned but to continue to fight prejudice in all forms. What he and his wife experienced is bigoted prejudice but that exists between Shia and Sunni, upper and lower caste Hindu's, vegetarian and non vegetarian Housing societies and the list is endless.It is upto educated people like us not to succumb to these divisive traps and all our collective efforts will make India a better place if not for us at least for for our children? If our past was bitter should not our future be better???
