I am wondering why rediff is allowing such a third class column. I too have similar experience with muslim and I too am lucky that I am alive today.
I think that muslim community in India must have to look deep inside to see where the problem lies. I am an atheist; so, for me muslim should be same as any other community, right. But, I do see muslim with deep mistrust. I believe that muslims are normal people as well, but what makes them so different from other Indian communities (like Hindu,Sikh, Buddhist etc) is the religion of Islam and reluctance of muslim to reform themselves.
I once had my best friend who was muslim. When I used to visit him, I noticed:
(i) How they used to celebrate when Pak used to win agaist India. Do not give me the crap of their love for sports.
(ii) I saw majority of them celebrating after pak tested its nuclear after India. For them, it was revenge against Hindu Country.
(iii) See how the objected when Hindus used laud-speaker for their festival (case of Aligarh n Mau, UP) when muslim use it five times a day.
There is some problem with Islam and it should reform itself.
