RE: Why I won't live among Hindus
by Aamod Gokhale on Apr 11, 2006 03:49 PM

This mindset, this discrimination is shocking and shameful. I think everyone who has been at the receiving end, been discriminated against, should come out and name the people involved. If we don't feel outrage, then we don't deserve the freedom, we don't deserve the democracy and we fully deserve the criminal and corrupt poiticians and administration that rule us. It is not the politicians but the middle class that is letting down the society, creating divisions, and paying lip service to patriotism, but could not care less if riots occur in a neighbouring locality. It is disgusting that the author is denied a house in a colony on religious basis. Will somebody explain to me what is constitutional meaning in my country of "Rule of Law"? I seem to have misunderstood. I feel ashamed at the religious discrimination in the city I grew up in, the city i love. We need to weed these elements and destroy them. There is no place for discrimination, particularly based on religion, caste, class, and sex, in a civilized society - if we claim to be one.
