Misuse of religion
by jayanti nnc on Apr 11, 2006 03:52 PM

To the persons talking about Muslims and Islam: I am a Hindu but I know that the basic teachings of Islam, like all religions, are about good values. All religions are for good - but they all have at some point in

time been corrupted by negative messages like sati, child marriage etc. in our religion. That does not mean we can randomly blame the religion or all its followers. The worst mistake possible is to charcterize all people of a particular religion as the same. The history and culture of India are full of people of all religions who have made it great. Kings like Akbar

and TipuSultan who regarded all religions as equal long before the concept

of secularism was known - great saints like Kabir, GuruNanak and SaiBaba who worked for religious unity . There were countless Muslims among the freedom fighters of this country. And countless Muslims in the armed forces who keep us safe today. They work and live just like us. India is nolonger a country that can or should be - separated into religions. THats just wrong. Your view of Muslims is implanted in our mind by selfish politicians Don't fall a prey to this. Religion is our way to communicatewith God Dont allow it to be misused
