Lessons Learnt.
by Hari on Apr 11, 2006 12:22 PM

Why do Governments come out with compensation packages even as the tragedy is unfolding? The right thing to do will be to make acceptable enquiries into the causes of the incident, determine the causes and the mistakes leading to the incident.A report on the Lessons learnt shoulod be brought out and the national Government should bring out guidelines for safety considerations in the conduct of all such 'fairs' or 'melas' or whatever we call it where large number of people are expected to congregate.
I hope this does not die down with a few Soniajis and Mulayamjis and other jis visiting hospitals and getting photographs taken and few 'compensations' doled out.Let us have some actions taken by which we try and reduce the impacts of such events in future.
Best,

Hari
