Judas' betrayal cannot be glorified.
by Mark Lynn on Apr 07, 2006 09:04 PM

Jesus telling Judas to do what he has to do is not a a wrong assessment. After all jesus knew who was to betray him. But Jesus outrightly encouraging Judas does not seem in the nature of Christ. He would not have to coax Judas. The prophecies are fulfilled by acts of God. In that respect Judas' act was part of God's plan but it is not an act that needs to be glorified. His betayal is a reminder to all christians that they betray Christ by acts equivalent to nailing Him to the cross. In that respect Judas murdered the Lord, but his act has taught Christians to repent for any sin that would amount to a renewed murder of Christ, in the spiritual realm.
