When will India rock?
by kavindra mathi on Oct 03, 2005 07:31 AM

Personally, I havent seen many young Indians, and the Indian recording houses; dont want to go into details, Originality and so they remain superficial. To top it, they talk with confidence combined with little respect for anything "Rock" produced within India, though Indian influence on western rock bands is immense!. Their attitude - "loser" for, they are not inspired and seek inspiration, gazing at the rock stars from the west. Real Rock Music flows whenever young "rock n roll" India decides its time to stop complaining or being depressed about the state of the world, start doing something about it; like read voraciously- on an average of two books a week; and gradually put together a picture in their own mind of the current state of the world, how we got here, what we needed to do about it, And then share what is learned and experienced, also in part discuss it with others, find out if they felt the same - then, finally, would flow the real Indian rock music!! Still better, a school of rock could help: for creativity is not only dead, but also not appreciated when it comes from Rocking Indians themselves- sad but true rock
