Rock music
by Shahwar Hussain on Sep 30, 2005 06:25 PM

This is in reference to Mr Sumit Bhattacharya's article on Rock music in India. I totally agree with him. We lapup any trash that comes from the West convinentely forgeting that we have some great singers, song writers, muscians and rock band but why cant theyu be seen and heard? He rightly says that the music companies wont touch them with a bargepole. They would rather promote those remixes which does nothing but kill the beautiful original songs.

Like Lou Majaw and the Great Society. What a FANTASTIC singer and musician he is. See him play and hear his songs and if it does not stir you from the guts than you know nothing about rock music. I have seen him play a hundred times and wont tier to see him play another 100 times. And I am not saying this simply because Iam from the North East. There are many others like him dying to cut an album and make people hear them. But people who matter does not care a hoot about them and their music. They play original and meaningful music not some stupid punk rock.
It is a classic case of The Grass Is Greener On The Other Side. We dont realise what we are misssing at home.
They dont make the cut because their skin is not white.
