I think it is hypocritical for the BJP to condemn the fatwa against Sania when the RSS and the VHP seek to impose thier brand of Talibanism in India, for instance by attckinf valentine parties. I recollect a fanatical hindu group attacking girls wearing jeans and couples walking hand-in-hand in public. Relegion is important for many people and i recognise this, though I am an atheist. That is why I would not go around attacking Hindu temple goers and isssuing fatwas aganst bearded muslim men and veiled muslim women, even if I could. Yes, we all have the right to express our views, including our views on sania's dress. By all means call it indecent, but allow her to have her say too. I mean I find some muslim ( and Hindu ) very repulsive, and I should have the freedom to express my views . But For goodness sake let us not use our position to impose our views on others. The issue is not whether Islam says or does not say what Sania should wear; some say it does while some say it does not; but that does not matter. What matters is our individual freedom. The fight is between those who hate freedom ( Mullahs,RSS etc) and those who cherish it, i.e most of us.
