Is the Indian Muslim community so problem free that the "guardians" / "leaders" of the religion can focus on issues so insignificant such as the length of a tennis player's skirt?
Cheating is so rampant in many trades within our community. It is especially painful when phony traders with an intention to cheat, join a Jamaat and exploit their position with impunity- ESPECIALLY AGAINST OTHER MUSLIMS. I've travelled quite a bit, and I haven't even seen a decibel raised about this issue- leave alone action.
How about the case of many Gulf proponents, aged 70+ who just marry a poor girl and dissapear overnight? I haven't heard a decibel out here either...
It hurts much, as an Indian Muslim, for me to see a huge concentration of youths begging aimlessly without a vision/ goal/ opportunity in Friday prayers. It also pains me to see a huge segment of aged people bearing the blasting sunlight, begging for change.
In the light of all this, I don't think it is appropriate for Islam's "torch bearers" to highlight an issue so menial as the length of a girl's skirt- unless of course, the "torch bearers" themselves want nothing but publicity...please do some social work first!!!
