Factual Errors
by Mohammed Shahid on Oct 30, 2005 11:14 AM

Wasnt quite expecting it from Mr. Raman, but seems to me there are a few factual errors he's made.

'Al-Quds' is Arabic for Jerusalem and there's no Muslim event by that name, as Raman seems to suggest. The last Friday of Ramadan is properly called 'Jamiat-ul-vidaa'.

Admittedly though, it is an Iranian (post-Khomeini) tradition (and not a worldwide phenomenon) to commemorate the day as 'Al-Quds Day'. Perhaps Raman is confusing the Palestinian day called An-Naqba with Al-Quds.

regards,

shahid.
