ICBMs by india should have come much longer...
by SRKPRIV on Oct 19, 2005 12:44 AM

Our military expenses in proportion to our GDP is very low. We should atleast keep it at 3.5% of our GDP and also additionally fund a lot of old and new research areas. The ICBM is a good thing, but India should have gotten into this much sooner, on top, other things like space based weapons etc. It is like we have to finish the conventional things first and move into advanced things. We should do things parallelly as other advanced countries are going forward. If you look at the AGNI stuff, to know that it is still not in serial production is bad. How long we have known agni to be our missile of choice. Only, prithvi is in production now and most others are either under user testing or under development. Most important factor is increase the defence budget to fund all these projects parallely at the same time, fund the new and advanced projects, such that when we are there, we dont have to start all over again.
