Bloody Hypocrites
by Vijay Sarma on Oct 03, 2005 07:30 PM

It would seem that there is nothing that riles an Indian more than seeing others happy, especially if it is young people in love.

Why else would we burden their enthusiasm with outdated, Victorian notions of propriety...the "Indian Culture" that they speak of is more accurately represented in the vivid sculptures of Khajuraho and Konark than in the school-marmish laws that the English have bequeathed us, having wisely moved on themselves!

Culture is nothing but a convenient garb for people whose only source of happiness lies in preying on that of others.

So much for liberty! Why not just erase that inconvenient word from our constitution and rid ourselves of all this hypocrisy? The Police can then do want they want without the sham of Orwellian explanations.

Vijay
