death penalty to Abu salem
by Pravesh Diwan on Nov 12, 2005 11:29 PM

We are all concerned for the life of an accused, however it is time we start speaking for the innocent people who died due to actions of these who are known criminals, extortionists and terorrists. History has proved that nothing is a better deterrent to a criminal than the fear of severe punishment. Hence we need to implement severest punishment to the guilty without any guilt on our conscience, as this will eventually help the innocent of our society. The laws of Saudi Arabia may sound barbaric, but serve the purpose for which they are created. The laws of our country are a bad joke which is played upon the innocent people of this country repeatedly and we are mere spectators to this mockery of our existence. Unfortunately the philosphy of tolerance has been so deeply ingrained in to our pscyhe that it has reduced our self respect also to outright humiliation. If we want to set things right for our coming generations we need to learn to live with self respect and know how to achieve this goal without being emotional. We need to get out of our mindset whereby humiliation is very often accepted as KARMA.
