Promise is a Promise

Abu Salem would no doubt deserves death penalty for all the dastardly acts of him. However, promise is a promise. If we don't keep our word, India's words won't carry much weight in future. That is not ggod. So he should not be given death penalty. He should be given a lifer, stay in jail till death. He should not be released after customary 14 years of imprisonment.
That definitely is not commensurate with the level of his crime, but as they say, something is better than nothing. Remember this --If India had not promised, he would extrdited not he would have been a free bird with no punishment at all. So I say something is better than nothing.
