A promise is a promise

I don't disagree that Abu Salem deserves to be punished to the
maximum extent of the law. While I am unaware of how many
extraditions the govt. does every year, but there are plenty of wanted
criminals we need to bring back from foreign lands. That is only
going to happen if we are able to honour the word we have given the
intl. community, so that we can do justice to those people.
If we don't keep our word, other countries may not be in favour of
returning our fugitive nationals back to us. That of course, just brings
us back to the issue of those criminals doing their business from
outside our borders, which leads us absolutely nowhere.
Issuing the death penalty would be a short-sighted thing to do.
