Indian Muslims -Indian Democracy
by Dr. Shashi V.Damle on May 31, 2005 12:33 PM

It is all a number game.In the Indo-Gangetic plain, voters belonging to Muslim community appear to be an important factor in determining the Results in our
'FPP' Election model. In this situation, can one really call these voters belonging to a particular religion as 'religious Minority'. This is a serious issue. Clearly NUMBERS matter. Obviously, some threshold should be defined to earn the Minority Status. For Example,Parsis, Anglo-Indians group, Christians of all different varieties etc are typically less than 2 to 3 %in most constituencies hence no politician of so called 'secular' variety takes any trouble to woo these voters. On the other these groups have shown sustained development in all spheres of life and have contributed considerably to the development of our nation without having to invoke any Minority Rights etc. Has anyone heard about Hindu-Parsi or Hindu-Christain riots of the type Hindu-Muslim riots in some parts of our country. It is therefore clear that these riots are motivated, mainly by those who want a solid vote share from these Muslim Voters by frightening them.I appeal to Muslim Voter to awaken & be aware of these Hypocrites. Try,search, find REAL FRIENDS
