Imrana Edict

The Fatwa issued on Imrana's case is baseless in the light of Quran and Sunnah (Teachings of Prophet Mohamad). Here is the answer for this case that i requested from a scholar.
Dear questioner:
Al-Salâm `Alaykum wa Rahmah Allah wa Barakâtuh.
We heard about this issue from another source without it being attributed to Dâr al-`Ulûm Deoband. We seriously doubt that Deoband would issue such an obviously erroneous verdict.
Such a ruling could never conceivably come from a proper Islamic judge or Islamic court of Law.
There is either a miscommunication somewhere or this came possibly from some tribal council in complete and utter disregard for Islamic Law.
A womans father-in-law is mahram to her. There is no way on Earth that he as a mahram can ever be lawful to her in marriage any more than her own father could ever be lawful to her. It would be sinful for her to marry him or to willingly have sexual relations with him. She is not sinful for having been raped, since that was against her will.
