Why Siachen Matters
by rakesh mullapudi on Jun 17, 2005 02:26 AM

It's a very good article. Due to poor strategic and long term vision of Indian leaders starting from socialistic Mr.Nehru to nationalistic Mr.Vajpayee India today is facing so many troubles. I completely agree with the views of the article. To add to this, when the BJP first came to power in late 90's, patriotic indians like me had lots of hopes from it. Fortunately, they did fulfill a few hopes, like going nuclear, establishing closer relations with major nations and groupings in the world like U.S, EU, ASEAN, etc. But, then it was really heart breaking to see that Mr. Jaswant Singh personally escorted the three terrorists - Maulana Masood Azhar, Omar Sheikh and Mushtaq Zargar to release the passengers of IA flight IC 814 during the Kandahar Hijacking. What a shame it was for India. The problem of illegal bangladeshis flooding border states - particularly Assam and West Bengal is assuming dangerous proportions. Yet, our leaders refuse to acknowledge the problem and deal with it. The congress continues to treat these illegal aliens as a vote bank. Now, what about India? what about Indians? who cares for us? who cares for India? Is some body listening? Anyone paying attention?
