The New Age
by mrsingh on Jun 25, 2005 09:10 PM

The new age libbo pinko media going ga-ga over Advanis change of heart and actually joining him to prove jinnahs secular credentials ( read the TOI to know what I mean ) reminds me of W. H. Auden's "For the Time Being," a prophetic poem from a half century-ago, that best describe the decadence of Political Correctness. Auden predicted that in the "New Age" : Knowledge will degenerate into a riot of subjective visions & Justice will be replaced by Pity as the cardinal human virtue, and all fear of retribution will vanish & The New Aristocracy will consist exclusively of hermits, bums and permanent invalids. The Rough Diamond, the bandit who is good to his mother, the epileptic girl who has a way with animals will be the heroes and heroines of the New Age, when the general, the statesman, and the philosopher have become the butt of every farce and satire. ( I found this poem in The Goldberg Files by Jonah Goldberg, The National Review)
