One has full sympathy for the grim situation Mumbai faces, having spent a useful period of time there. But I wish someone would clarify that though MUmbai pays 40% of the tax in India, it just happens to be handling it like a middleman. Most of those taxes are earned all over the country, and happen to be filed from MUmbai. Something Mumbaikars can be proud of, but not demanding of.
