I grew up in the days of Doordarshan's afternoon transmission of quality UGC programs. They were real quality pragrams with only a few rukawat ke liye khed hai.
We now have whiteboards with colored markers replacing the chalk and blackboards for the privileged ones. The launch of virtual classes through Edusat in elementary education would level this disparity in education.
Regular schools could also merge their curriculum with the edusat session by making their working days to 5-day a week and Saturdays being dedicated to kids learning from home thru the edusat. Edusat programs could also dedicate their Saturdays session to school kids and take up sessions that would assist the kids in their regular curriculum this could go a long way in integrating the schools across the country.
Government should ensure that all schools that come under the MPs Constituency has the required infrastructure for edusat education they can use MP's fund for this effort.
UGC, IGNOU and Doordarshan have been pioneer in the spread to education in the country now with the availabily of service like edusat more NGOs and Private institutions should participate in the evangelism.
