Reading your report on the local heroes who struggled to save bus passengers marooned in Bandra Kurla area on the 27th July I agree our government failed to be prepared. Even a dozen inflatable boats that cost a few thousand rupees and need no maintainence or operation cost are not available. In Florida any time there is flooding immediately the rescuers use these inflatable boats and quickly rescue the marooned. Why ca'nt BMC or Govt. of Maharastra have 20 or 30 such boats at firestations in low lying areas. Will anyone listen to this or will we wait for another monsoon to face another crises.
