Nuclear deal with US
by sibysibs on Jul 27, 2005 07:08 PM

its is indeed a great news for indian scientists who have been grappling with lack of funds, co-operation from the govt. and sluggard politicians. Its a win win situation for both US and India. More so for US, which has been recently getting uncomfortable with the rise of China. The chinese have been following a strategy of gaining economic might in the few years to come. Slowly but steadily its been inching closer to Russia. And dont forget that pakistan, a blow hot blow cold ally of US, has been failing in all fronts to contain al-Qaida and other terror operatives. There is a general perception in the US conservative media that US must ronounce its ties with pakistan and opt for a more US friendly ( perceived) India. Since the US has a conservative Republican at the helms, we can expect possible fireworks in the months to come. US also considers imminebt threat from North Korea and Iran, both have been receiving favours and tactical support from China. India is US's best bet in the region, its been proved considering the fact that we are no longer push overs and are a force to reckon with.
