Finally a sane article on the India-US cooperation...
by Sanjay A on Jul 27, 2005 02:07 AM

Commodore Jasjit Singh has hit the bulls eye with this article, which touches upon all the strategic arguments/points related to the developing relations between India and the US. It is moot point that both the nations will benefit from the strategic engagement, however, there are a lot of historical baggage factors on both sides that need to be addressed before this truly becomes a strategic relation. The left front's nuisance factor truly needs to be dealt by the Congress and the BJP parties in the interest of the nations security - economic and military. The US needs to setlle the non-proliferation ayatollahs and cold war era minds at their end. India and its government will also need to behave like a global power and not like the flip-flop behavior we have shown in the past on a lot of strategic issues. I think Jasjit Singh has done a favor to the Indian readers by writing this article and this article should get extra coverage on Rediff for its positiveness.
