Ban Honking-Severe Noise Pollution
by JAY on May 09, 2006 09:52 AM

There were the days when one use to get a pleasant, clam and QUIET good night sleep, fresh morining tea and breakfast. But now a days one has to put ear plugs to get so call sleep and wakes'up in middle of night with a loud and ugly vehicle horns, party noises, ear brusting sounds of bhajans or other religious functions etc. In India the noise pollution is so rampant and appalling that we society is now becoming use to it. The authorities are absolutley turing blind eye and giving deaf ear to this increasing menace. If you travel in singapore, honkong or other delevope countiries or even in Maurtius which has majority Indians, you will find no honking by vechicles, absolutely clam, quiet, painent and displined driving by general public there. But here in India we at a drop of pin start honking like a maniac and have NO patient and displine to adhere tothe traffic rules. More and more vechicles drivin by absolutely ruthless drivers and no sense of traffic is making the things worst for controlling noise pollution. The authorities should check this menace and ensure that effective measures are taken to crub this noise pollution particular the Vechicle Honking pollution. Hopping. JA
