Pygmy hogs
by viswanath on Jul 10, 2005 10:31 AM

India is a storehouse of wildlife. The nation should realise this and protect them for the future generations. Wildlife tourism can also be a money spinner, for those who think money is more important than preserving ecology by itself as important. Leaders should wake up and exert themselves to save what is remaining of our wildlife. No more Sariska and no more Veerappans or Sansar chands to haunt the jungles. Save the jungle and India will be saved.Involve the poor advasis in forest protection. Give them a stake in protection and not destruction. Periyar example of Kerala and some examples from Assam also are a pointer in this regard. If locals get a stake the forest will be safe.
