Cry, my beloved India
by an Indian on Jan 28, 2005 09:13 PM

Do you know the meaning of "Secular". Being a westerner and a christian does not give you a right to write about India when you don't have a clue of my country. We are secular people. We are proud to say that our president is a muslim. Sonia Gandhi WAS a westerner and a christian, but the day she married the beloved son of our country Rajiv Gandhi, she gave up her country and religion to become an Indian and a hindu. Understand that first. And she made sure that she does not hurt any Indian's feelings and so she did not accept the post of the prime minister.

And what about Benny Hinn. Even I agree he is a quack. So what. India is a country with freedom of speech and anyone is welcome to our country. If you like him attend his lecture, you don't then stay away from it. If Benny Hinn is stopped then so should Rajneesh, Mata Amritandamayi and others be banned from any lectures or hugging sessions.
The strength of our country is in the secularism that exists in our country and no westerner or christian can change that.
India is the largest secular country and has proved that point. I am proud to be an Indian.
My suggestion to you is to give up writing.
GO India.
