review : long hair is for gals, dude
by smita agarwal on Sep 15, 2005 06:37 PM

I can relate so much to this article as I see this happening all around. I have lived in Delhi alone for quite sometime -travelled in busses, carried heavy suitcase while going home on train, at times gone to Govt office for some work.....and it's all there - the stares, the comments, the groping. And it makes the place so sick, moving about so unpleasant and the sense of security vanishing.

As of the long hair, my brother had it once. And people find it so hard to think away from the conventions. they just cannot live without associating long hair with feminity. They can't break away from conventions and think out of the box.

I live in US now - and feel the difference. People are free here. Infact they like to be different and they are respected for holding their unique personality.

The outlook in India has to be changed.
