Your idea of China being friendly to a 'fellow superpower' is loughable too.
You need to read some books regarding the history power rivalry that is going on between India and China since they became republics about 55 years back.
Moreover, superpowers sharing common borders, that too disputed, may be friendly outwardly, but underlined rivalry/competition will go on and on.
