Is Congress back to manipulative ways
by Prakash on Feb 09, 2005 01:37 PM

With Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister I expected a clear departure from past practice of Congress of buying MLS to get into power. It was Rajiv as PM who introduced anti defection bill in present format. It is another thing that unwittingly he gave power to speaker of assembly/Parliment. So called presiding officers have been blantantly partial and used these power to keep the party of their choice in power. Congress it appears is still controlled by power brokers who want their men everywhere so that they can dish out favours and in turn get favours.

In my openion Rajiv Gandhi was a Prime Minister with foresight. He initiated reforms and telecom revolution results of which every one can see. But he became a victim of some manipulative persons in party who misguided him, indulged in corrupt practices and let him take the blame all the time remaining in background. These people of no substance were responsible for congress being out of power for 10 years. I do hope that Sonia and Rahul ( may be Manmohan Singh if he has some voice in party or government) take notice of this and dismiss both governor and Rane and call for fresh election.
