One of the most dangerous acts that B.J.P. did was understandably, massive privatization, strictly in view of the general performance of such private firms today, if only the purpose for which they were privatized is kept in mind! For instance, consider the telecommunication industry after such privatization: .a) Common public get enormous amount of out going wrong calls losing lots of money while they become nuisance calls to the customers receive them! b) Directory enquiry facility is not available to the extent either Government or Government of India has provided. c) Wide publicity of the changes in levels of various telephone numbers provided by different service providers are not given frequently resulting in total confusion of public who often either silently submit themselves to such tortures due to their preoccupations or run to Press who are also not of much help! d) Public are not aware of the unit where a complaint has to be registered. e) Subscribers complaints are not responsibly tackled as various levels of redressal are not provided for public approach! f) No detailed instructions on construction, installation and maintenance are available in private firms mostly while such details are provided in Govt. of India Undertakings etc., g) Many works are carried out by agencies that are not direct appointees of the service providers which is a provision made to escape and avoid responsibilities, the provision of which should be struck down. h) Arrogance and adamance are wide spread in private service providers! i) In spite of all such defects of private service providers, they carry on without any check from any authority such as so called T.R.A.I. for necessary remedial measures to provide better services to customers.. j) Customers are forced to carry on with sustained complaints while Government of India undertakings deal with well organized wide network of information and complaints, though steadily falling corruption might be here and there in small ways, compared to the wide spread scams of crores elsewhere! k) The purpose should be fulfilled at any cost and no explanations of any kind can be accepted! Memories are afresh in the minds of people on how the private institutions minted money on the pretext of provision of quality education in various private schools and colleges. The deterioration of public services offered by private enterprise is therefore, well known, be in field of telecommunication or education as we notice today! It is thus imperative for the Government to monitor and exercise a overall check in such operations to offer better standards ,of services! Corruption, if at all seen, can be separately dealt by methods clearly pronounced already!
