Another IAF crash
by Dr R Bhandary on Dec 27, 2005 03:56 PM

Another IAF jet crashes and yet another investigation is instigated..... This time in Bangalore and the jet in question is Kiran Jet Trainer. We all know the reason... these jets are aging. In Delhi, buses which are more than 8 years old are not allowed to ply on the roads as public transport vehicles and on the other hand machines which are relics are allowed to fly in the sky. No wonder a 20-yr old Alliance Aircraft with people on board crashed in Patna, a few years ago.

It's time to wake up and call a spade a spade. Else we shall continue to witness repeated aircraft crashes which injure, maime or kill our precious pilots. This is after our economy has improved enormously. The acquisition of new AJT can be compared to Bangalore-Mysore Expressway or the Bangalore Metro Project!!! Either a very slow take-off or still on papers!
