I agree that India is lacking on education front and much needs to be done. The first aim should be to give preferrence to basic science. Engineering is more of applied science, which rests on basic science. I just went through the reading in details. Actually when you see the individual scores, IISc and IIT KGP scores are zero on alumni, which is next to impossible. The role of IIT has been acknowledged by likes of Bill Gates. Please consider this aspect too. Moreover as we have seen ranking is always controversial.
