democracy in Pakistan
by Vijaya Kumar on Aug 31, 2005 07:43 PM

Pakistan is formed based on religion just as rest of the countries, which are called collectively as Muslim nations. It essentially means, religion is the guiding principle for the administration. When the religious tenets are strict for women, and the country is based on religion, the conflict is inevitable. The founding fathers of American constitution, although from all angels were as fanatic as any one else is, wanted separation of religion from rule. Once the holy books become foundation for rule, what is so surprising that Begums are murdered? The 700 club guy in America is praying for the death of Supreme court justices in USA. Religion essentially eliminates common justice in the name of justice and peace. Although Islam takes most of the criticism, I do not believe any religion is immune to perpetrating injustice in the name of religion. Vijaya Kumar
