How to save Mumbai in future
by Umesh D. Joglekar on Aug 05, 2005 01:58 PM
In order to save Mumbai following things need to be done on warfooting
1. Demolish all the illegal constructions irrespective of class people occupying them and irrespective of when they were built!
2. Clean all the drainages. Install water treatment plants. Water which is safe for marine life should be released into the sea.
3. Stop cutting mangrooves. They are defenses against tidal waves.
4. Clean rivers like Mithi so that flood water will have no obstrcution while flowing into Arebian sea.
5. Stop construction activity in the low level areas.
