Govt has not failed
by vijay on Aug 01, 2005 07:08 PM

It is a fashion in this country to blame the govt for every thing, this is the one of the developing (god knows when this tag will come to an end)country where people depend on the govt even for their smallest of need. No govt in the world, not even the govt of USA could have done anything better in such a circumstances which aroused due to the murder of this city from its irresponsible population. The office goers added to the mess by rushing to their homes when actually they could have stayed overnight, this could have eased the pressure on the govt and could have allowed them to concentrate on flooded areas. Its a shame that we allow our own people to stay in such inhuman conditions. People don`t vacate from risky places even when told to do so. If there is any body to be blamed then it is those state govts which are not able to give a decent living to its population and force them to migrate to mumbai and maharashtra. The media is unneccesarily raising the hype by focussing on those areas where help has not reached. I think this is time for introspection and all of us, instead of blaming the state government, also realise our share of responsibility.
