RE:Indo-Pak : Same old story
by manofsan on Apr 29, 2005 05:04 AM

What nonsense. Didn't you see Arafat-Rabin-Peres all shaking hands at the Whitehouse and at other foreign capitols? Very lovey-dovey moments between these men soon replaced by terrible violence, complete rupture of diplomatic relations, and constant charges and accusations traded between both sides. What about Vajpayee's infamous Lahore bus trip? Same thing. Naturally any hugs and handshakes between Manmohan and the survival-obsessed Musharraf can fade just as easily. Musharraf's govt is a one-man-act just like Arafat's was. This is in contrast to India's current leadership, for which there are plenty of alternatives. Perhaps it will take Musharraf's death before there is true movement towards peace, just as with Arafat's death.
