A TRUE SOLDIER'S SERVICE BOOK (IS MORE THAN A TREASURE TO ME)- Late C.G. OOMMEN (ex-service)
I am writing this letter from Cochin, myself Joy, I am the youngest one among six siblings. I am a son of an Ex-serviceman father. My father had joined the Indian Army at the age of 18teen before pre-Independent India. After peace came to the region and subsequent demobilization of the Army, optionally, he had wind up his obligation & got relieved from service just one week before INDEPENDENCE OF INDIA. His first posting was in the Army at CAWNPORE (now known as KANPUR,UP). The 61year old service book of my father is still with me, which is more than a legacy.

Hence, I can perceive or touch the India's freedom & its unlimited joy, which has regained by the untiring & selfless sacrifice of the Ever Alert Great INDIAN ARMY.

Really.... my sincere Salute to all of them.
