A suggestion
by Ranga on May 26, 2008 03:16 PM

It is really a happy riding on HAL Airport road which is virtually deserted due to the shift of airport to BIA. It is a welcome decision and in fact, it came late, though come to Bangalore as latest. Thanks to all of BIAL project people for their hard work and dedication. Entire Karnataka is proud of these people.

When it comes to money matters, to avoid huge financial loss to domestic airliners, the good suggestion is: Retain HAL airport immediately for the south Indian cities of Kerala, TamilNadu & Andhra, as business people who are frequent travelers, cannot afford to spend 5 hours of duration of travel between Bangalore and any one of these cities, being the fact that a mere 40-60 minutes of flying time, the rest goes to local travel time at departure & arrival cities, plus waiting at the airports for regular formalities & baggage collection.

It is business people who travel more on flights. For them, an hour delay could cost millions of value of a business opportunity, that is why business people don%u2019t mind spending on air travel. Before they opt for private vehicals like personal car, train or bus, the concerned officials (state/central) should wake up immediately and retain HAL airport.

International cities and all the north-indian cities including Mumbai & Kolkatta, BIAL should be the preferred airport. There is no question or doubt about this.
