Shameful to ask for a terrorist's acquital
by Ram Sharma on May 23, 2008 10:06 AM

The equating of Sarabjit's and Afzal's cases by our inefficient Home Minister is height of gowing down to get votes of communal Muslims. Firstly both r Indian citizens and the former is wrongly in Pakistani jail, due to crossing over of the border by mistake. Hence it is the duty of our govt to get him back, as he is innocent.

As regards Afzal, he has been convicted in Parliament attack by our SC. In the same case the court acquited Prof Gilani giving him benefit of doubt. It is again the duty of the govt to follow SC's instructions.

The wish to save terrorist Afzal is purely from selfish political reasons for getting votes of communal Muslims.

It is shameful for the incompetent Home Minister to plead for a terrorist's acquital.
