It is damn easy to sit somewhere far away and bad mouth India. Yes it is true that India has many problems today, a lot of it has to do with us being a fairly young and a multi-cultural, multi-linguistic and an overpopulated nation. When the White trash (Brits) that ruled us for over 250 years left, they left a country independent, alright but in dire straits. An India that could not even manufacture a saftey pin. Where we are today after just under 61 years of independence is astounding. That we are successfull democracy retaing our secluar nature still has many all over the world spell-bound. What we are facing today in terms of corupption, crime, beurocracy, as terrible as they are; are the teething problems all young democracies face. We will overcome this. The tide will turn. The best way to accelerate this process is for us, the youth of India, to be an active force in the policy making of the country. The sooner we do that the better it will be. Plus whith these statistics, also what has been masked, is what percentage of these murders are personal,i.e.; where the killer was known to the victim. I am sure that the latter will constitute a large number of these cases. Though a murder is a murder, this will give us a better picture on the whole issue. INdia bashing seems to be the easy thing to do for many indians settled abroad. All I have to say to them and people like Annu Malik and shetty in Japan is GOOD RIDDENCE. I am ashamed that you are Indians.
