Having lived in western countries also, I know India is far behind western countries in terms of development and physical comforts. But this particular news item is utter crap because when population is more everything (good as well as bad) will be more in terms sheer volume. What you should consider is the rate (per million people or so). Some poeple can only see bad. Some people can see only good. Occasionally there are people who can seee good as good and bad as bad.
