Karat raises some pertinent questions
by guk on Jun 17, 2008 05:24 PM

I do not agree with the many of CPI(M)s views especially regarding Indo-US nuclear deal and their blind pro-China tilt at the cost of national interests.
However, Mr. Karat raises some very relevant questions in his interview.

1. We may be number one in the world in producing billionaires, but how does that type of growth help the country or the people?

2. You talk of young people going to the malls, but you also have a country where 54 per cent children below 5 are malnourished. Why are they malnourished?

3. Why is malnutrition so prevalent in this country?

4. Why has per capita consumption of food grains actually fallen after liberalisation?
