Whereas v have seen the national defense budget shooting multi fold each year, I personally felt both heart wrenched & pathetic to have seen today's newspaper (TOI and HT both) footage of a developing BARELY EQUIPPED bomb disposal squad personnel bravely defusing the bomb in the garbage bag - donning ONLY A HELMET which looked pretty feeble in protecting his head. What about the rest of the body? It seems the honorable defense minister has not seen the TYPE OF GEAR which is provided to the bomb disposal squads in other countries. To the extent, that the person had to take off the helmet while conducting THE FINAL DEFUSING STEP as it was interfering with clear vision. PATHETIC! I wonder where the defense budget is being used, if THESE FIRST RESPONDERS cannot be provided even with basic protective gear to carry our their DANGEROUS JOBS without any fear!
