It is a total myth that Ray showed poor people in all his movies. He should REAL people.
Many of his movies showcased characters that had a deep intellect and a strong underpinning of ethics and morals.
I think you are one of those that are sucked into Bollywood reality of palatial homes, khadwa chowts, and toothe hue taare...from that angle, Ray was, of course a "hypocrite".
