Mumbai our commercial capital has many blots that never seem to go away. Its slums , its poluted creeks, it overcrowded trains that lug millions from station to station, its World Bank financed drainage system that never works during the monsoons etc . But nothing is a greater blot on that city than the fact that it is home to Shobhaa de. That Shobhaa de has written 14 books evidences nothing more than the falling standards of what could be called the common reader ! A person like Shobhaa De , who lives in the world of Pg3 can never even get a hint of what this great nation is! It probably reflects inner arrognace that she considered herself fit to do that. Shobhaa de's vision cannot extend beyond what she can see from her Cuffe flat and sadly it is not India . Will I buy it or will I read it . The answer is No . I will prefer to read about the Indian Civilisation when Ekta Kapoor pens one! I can wait! Sorry I borrowed the subject ! Could not resist it !
