Indian religions are not based on fears, but on uderstanding the nature, the matter and their relationships with the universe.
Bertrand Russell was ignorant( was very arrogant) about Eastern religions. He was a racist of a kind. He wanted to drop Atom bombs on the Soviet Union to destroy the non-Anglo-Saxon power. He has no understanding of anything which is non-Western.
There are many similarities between Christianity and Indian religions, because Indian religions with Hinduism ( or Sanatan Dharma) is the core. That was explained to the West first by Raja Rammohan Roy, who has influenced some of the greatest minds of the West ( Emerson, Humboldt, Whitman and a few others).
